Drama Opportunity for older actors

Posted Monday, September 17th, 2012

Age Cymru has been approached by the August 012 Theatre company, who are looking for older men to become involved in a theatre production in Cardiff.

August 012 is a theatre company that is currently preparing a research and development week for October 2012 to explore Caligula, the 1940 play by Albert Camus.

Camus version of the emperor infamous life is a philosophical tragicomedy partly factual, partly absurdist and overall very entertaining.

The Theatre Director, Mathilde Lopez is keen to involve local older people who have an interest in drama in this initiative, and  would ideally be looking for male senior citizens, as the Roman empire was a masculine organization. The company is actually setting the play today between Rome and the European parliament, so what really counts at that stage is people ‘s interest in performing and being part of an experiment for 2 to 3  afternoons in Cardiff in October. The workshop session are likely to be in Ely and at Chapter in Canton.

Ultimately, this is part of a bigger process for a full production either in April or September 2013.

If you would like to take up this opportunity, please could you contact Mathilde directly:
