Rhondda Radio’s Great Week of Special Programmes.
Rhondda radio has teamed up with age cymru to deliver Gwanwyn Week. The Treherbert based station has been running for 2 years, and is running Gwanwyn week again this year from Monday May 23rd until Friday May 27th.
Gwanwyn is an annual event organised by Age Cymru and celebrates older age as a time of opportunity for renewal growth and creativity. It aims to offer opportunities for greater participation by older poeople in the arts whether visual arts, drama,story telling,music,literature,photography, dance or film.
Rhondda Radio currently broadcasts online 24/7
Gwanwyn week will include daily shows with advice and interviews with local older people who are involved in the arts. Rhondda Radio is run entirely by volunteers and many older people in the community are already acitvely involved in the radio station. Many of these will be presenting special Gwanwyn week shows featuring music of all genres.
