In Plain Sight – Yng Ngolau Dydd

Soap Opera!

Who’d believe it?  In one street, small  town or square at least one of the inhabitants will have changed sex, come out, been burgled, put up for adoption, married many times, lost children, friends, been bulimic, become suicidal – and happy!  Unbelievable? No!

On any street in any town or village, there are people silently fighting battles. And “The Rest of Us” just don’t notice.  They’re hidden in plain sight.

This gripping Theatre presentation will use people’s real stories to let the audience into their lives and give a voice to people who can’t speak for themselves, who are “Hidden in Plain Sight”:  Megan Evans, who has to go into a Care Home as her memories fade; Paul, who knew when he was four that he was a “little girl, not a little boy”  In his twenties he starts on the long road to put things right; Mair who comes home to find her front door smashed in and her grandmother’s wedding ring missing. The thief’s caught and there’s a chance for her to confront him.

Each performance will be followed by workshops with organisations such as Victim Support, Age Cymru and the Police

The events take place on 5th and 6th October at Theatr Soar in Merthyr Tydfil

Sebon!

Pwy fydde’n ei gredu? Mewn un  stryd, tref fach neu sgwar, mae o leia un o’r trigolion wedi newid rhyw, dod allan, cael lladrad, eu mabwysiadu. Wedi priodi sawl gwaith, colli plant, cyfeillion, dioddef o bwlimia, wedi teimo fel lladd eu hunain – neu’n hapus! Anghredadwy? Na!

Ar unrhyw stryd mewn unrhyw dref neu bentref, mae pobl yn brwydro helbulon yn ddistaw bach. Heb i’r “Gweddill Ohonnom” sylwi arnynt. Maent wedi eu cuddio yng ngolau dydd.

Bydd y cyflwyniad Theatr cyffrous hwn yn defnyddio straeon pobl go iawn i adael y gynulleidfa mewn i’w bywydau a rhoi llais i’r rhai sy’n gudd “Yng Ngolau Dydd”: Megan Evans, sy gorfod mynd i Gartre Gofal wrth i’w hatgofion ddiflannu; Paul a sylweddolodd pan oedd o’n bedair oed ei fod “Yn eneth fach, nid bachgen bach”. Yn ei ugeiniau mae’n cychwyn ar y llwybr i roi pethau’n iawn; Mair sy’n dod adre i weld ei drws blaen wedi ei chwalu a modrwy briodas ei Nain wedi ei ddwyn. Mae’r lleidr wedi ei ddal a chyfle iddi ei wynebu.

Wedi pob perfformiad bydd gweithdai yng nghwmni cyrff megis Victim Support, Age Cymru a’r Heddlu.
