Free Drama Workshop For Older People
Type of Event: Drama Workshop
Leading theatre company Kaleidoscope have just launched a new initiative aimed at encouraging and supporting more older people to get involved in drama and the performing arts.
The initiative which is called Acting Up will support older people across the UK to set up their own drama groups for older people or develop an existing group.
The new programme will offer groups all kinds of support including access to specially written plays for older people to perform, training workshops and seminars with professional actors, writers and directors and the opportunity to perform in a professional theatre venue as part of the Acting Up Theatre Festival. Best of all there are no costs for older people taking part in Acting Up thanks to the support of the Big Lottery Fund.
Kaleidoscope will be delivering a number of Acting Up taster workshops at venues up and down the country. The Wales Workshop will take place at the Sherman Cymru Theatre in Cardiff on Monday 8th February from 11am – 4pm.
The workshop is open to groups and individuals from all over Wales and the surrounding area. Places are limited and early registration is vital.
