Sharing Stories from the Shelter

Type of Event: Multi Art

Join us for the launch of our newly refurbished Anderson Shelter, created jointly between older local residents and young people from King Henry VIII Secondary School, Abergavenny.

The launch is the culmination of a project which has seen older people acting as ‘expert advisers’ on the subject of World War Two.  Working with artist Sally Davis, through a series of intergenerational workshops, the participants have created a mural based on WW2 Abergavenny, selected handling and interpretation objects for the shelter and worked together to create information panels, labels, booklets and oral histories.

The event is a chance to celebrate all that has been achieved.  Period dress welcome!
