cARTrefu, which means to reside in Welsh, is a two year programme run by Gwanwyn which aims to improve access to quality arts experiences for older people in residential care.
We have recruited 16 artists working in different fields to each deliver 8 x 8 week residencies at care homes across Wales. The programme has been a massive success so far and we hope that it will foster a greater appreciation of the arts among care home staff as they work with our artists. We want care home staff to acquire new skills and gain more confidence in sharing and practicing them in their daily work with residents
